OUR SERVICES

We provide a wide array of testing and treatment options

ALLERGY SKIN TEST

Skin prick testing is the most widely recognized technique for allergy testing. During this test, the skin is marginally pricked, while a little drop of allergen is exposed to the skin for around 15-20 minutes. Our allergist will monitor the skin for indications of an allergic reaction, including redness and swelling. You can expect to encounter some discomfort when your skin is being pricked and some irritation while the allergens are allowed to respond. This test is typically done to recognize allergies to pollen, mold, pet dander, dust mites, and foods. Skin prick tests are commonly safe for children and adults.

ORAL CHALLENGE TESTING

The allergist will expose you to a suspected allergen in a protected, clinical setting and observe your reactions. This test is sometimes used to confirm a food or medicine allergy (penicillin or peanuts, for instance). This test should never be done at home. It presents serious dangers and possibly life-threatening reactions. A board-certified allergist is trained to manage any reactions.

PATCH TESTS

Patch testing is used for allergic reactions on your skin. For example, if you develop a rash after using a new shampoo or wearing a new piece of jewelry. During the patch test, a substance is placed on a patch that is then applied to your skin. Positive reactions are delayed. So our allergists will leave the patch on for about 48 hours to see if you have any allergic reactions.

SPIROMETRY

Spirometry is a pulmonary function test that measures how much air a person breathes out, and how quickly. Pulmonary function tests measure how well the lungs are working.

AUDIOMETRY

An audiometry exam tests how well your hearing functions. It tests both the intensity and the tone of sounds.
